Realme have officially launched the Realme X7 and X7 Pro in China with most of the specs matching what has previously be leaked.

What did not launch was the recent rumour of a Realme X7 Player Edition with an unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 860, though it is possible this may launch at a later date.

AMOLED Display

Both phones feature an AMOLED display, but each one is different, the standard X7 has 6.4-inch AMOLED display that supports 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 180Hz touch sampling rate. It offers a 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio and comes with Gorilla Glass protection.

Then the Realme X7 Pro has a 6.55-inch S-AMOLED display that offers FHD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut. The Realme X7 Pro offers 91.6 percent screen space. Both phones have flat displays with a punch-hole design, and they are also equipped with in-display fingerprint scanners.

Realme X7 is the first phone with the new Mediatek Dimensity 800U

As expected the Realme X7 launches with the new affordable 5G chipset from Mediatek, the Dimensity 800U.

Then the X7 Pro will have the flagship chipset, the Mediatek Dimensity 1000+

Camera specification

Both phone have a similar camera specification.

For each phone the quad rear camera consists of a 64-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 119-degree 8-megapixel ultrawide snapper, a 2-megapixel B&W lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.

However, the 64MP camera of the X7 Pro is listed as the Sony IMX686 while the X7 makes no mention of the exact sensor. The IMX686 is quite common though, being used on the Zenfone 7, Redmi K30, Poco X2 and many more.

Then on the front, you get a single 32-megapixel front-facing camera with 80-degree FOV and f/2.45 aperture. This is a welcome departure from the pill-shaped dual lens set up Realme has been using recently.

Battery

The Realme X7 has a 4,300mAh battery, whereas the Realme X7 Pro has a larger 4,500mAh battery. Both devices come with support for 65W SuperDart charging technology.

NFC

One key feature worth noting is that the Realme X7 Pro has NFC and dual-frequency GPS, whereas the standard model does not. This will be particularly important for anyone wanting to import the phone.

Realme X7 Pro vs Redmi K30 Ultra

As usual with Realme and Redmi you have two phones that are almost identical both phones use the Dimensity 1000+, they bother have 120Hz AMOLED displays, and similar cameras (Redmi is a little better).

The Redmi has a large display and motorised popup whereas the Realme has a larger battery and faster charging.

If I had to choose I would say the Redmi K30 Ultra has the slight edge in spec for me, but it is a close call.
