Realme GT Master vs Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G vs OnePlus Nord 2 Specifications Compared – Three amazing phones for under £400

Yesterday, Realme confirmed that the new Realme GT Master Edition Series would launch globally on the 18^th of August.

The phone has already been launched in China, and you can import it from the likes of Giztop, but now we have confirmed global availability.

While it is confirmed that the Realme GT Master Edition is launching, it is not clear if the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition will launch, which has quite a different spec. It seems unlikely that this will launch.

The Realme GT Master (and the Explorer) shares a lot of similarities to the recently launched OnePlus Nord 2. It is almost as if they are related somehow?

Then, Realme arch-rivals Xiaomi has the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G, which has been out for a few months now.

Display

Both the Realme and OnePlus use the same sized 6.43-inch AMOLED display running at 2400×1080, but the Realme has a 120Hz refresh rate while OnePlus is 90Hz.

The Xiaomi is a touch larger at 6.55-inches running at 2400×1080 and 90Hz

Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G vs SD780G vs MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Chipset

All three chipsets offer a similar specification, and they will all offer amazing performance.

The Snapdragon 778G on the GT Master vs the Snapdragon 780G on the Mi 11 Lite 5G is a bit of an odd one.

They both have an identical CPU specification, but the Snapdragon 778G uses the 6nm TSMC fabrication process vs the Samsung 5nm fabrication process of the SD780G.

Then the GPU is the Adreno 642L vs Adreno 642. Based on the below benchmarks the SD780G offers a bit more gaming performance.

On the other hand, the SD778G uses faster  LPDDR5 (3200MHz) memory vs  LPDDR4 (2133MHz).

The MediaTek chipset has much higher frequencies for its CPU cores, and based on the below benchmarks, it is the clear winner for the GPU. It does, however, has some issues with stability, which is likely a result of thermal throttling.

Benchmarks

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G scored:

• 3121 in 3DMark for Android Wild Life with a 90% stability
• 468196 in Antutu V8

The SD778G has been tested on the Honor 50 Pro, scoring:

• 2489 in 3DMark for Android Wild Life with a 99% stability
• 525904 in Antutu V9 (V9 scores higher than V8)

The OnePlus Nord 2 and the Dimensity 1200 scored:

• 4175 in 3DMark for Android Wild Life with a 61% stability
• 617357 in Antutu V9

Camera

The OnePlus has the best camera specification by far with :

• 50 MP, f/1.9, 24mm (wide), 1/1.56″, 1.0µm, PDAF, OIS
• 8 MP, f/2.3, 119˚ (ultrawide)
• 2 MP, f/2.4, (monochrome)

It is the primary 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor that gives it the competitive edge (this sensor is also used on the GT Master Explorer, but I don’t think that’s launching in the UK)

Then the Realme and Xiaomi have very similar specs with a 64MP primary sensor plus 8MP ultra-wide. There is a slight difference in the primary sensor spec, and I would imagine that Realme uses a Sony sensor while the Samsung is using the Samsung GW3 64MP sensor (S5KGW3). Generally, I have found the Sony sensors to offer superior performance, but overall the performance will be very similar.

Battery

The OnePlus has the largest battery with 4500 mAh, then the Realme with 4300 mAh and the Xiaomi a touch behind with 4250 mAh.

All three chipsets on these phones should offer relatively good power efficiency, especially when compared to the SD888 on the Realme GT.

Both the Realme and OnePlus can be quickly charged using the 65W charger. OnePlus is slower at 33W, but they use Power Delivery as their charging standard, so you can get a 33W charge from third-party PD chargers.

Price

One thing we don’t know for certain yet is the Realme pricing, however, it has been reported that the Realme GT Master will launch for €349 for the 6GB/128GB and €399 for the 8GB/256GB.

Knowing Realme, you will also be able to grab the phone for a reduced rate in the first few days after launch. There is no word on early bird pricing but I am going to guess £299 for the base model.

The OnePlus Nord 2 is £399 for 8GB/128GB or £469 for 12GB/256GB

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G has an RRP of £399 for the 8GB/128GB model, but you can get it for £349 currently.

It is also worth noting that the Realme GT with the Snapdragon 888 is only £399 for the 8GB/128GB model, which is insanely good value for money.

Overall

The Realme GT Master looks like it will be £60-ish cheaper than the OnePlus Nord 2, which I think is sensible and it needs to be quite a bit cheaper than its more powerful SD888 quipped sibling.

I think the OnePlus Nord 2 will continue to be one of the best all-around options you can currently buy. The Dimensity 1200 offers superb performance, and you get a flagship quality main camera with the 50MP. Though at £399, you could pick up the flagship Realme GT with the superior SD888 chipset, but you would sacrifice camera performance.

Depending on the launch price, the Realme GT Master and Xiaomi seem to trade blows evenly. The Xiaomi has a slightly better chipset, but the Realme has a slightly better display, larger battery, and faster charging.
