Links & Affiliate Advertising
Mighty Gadget is more than just a spare-time hobby, it is my primary source of income. Display and affiliate advertising are the primary way I generate money from the site.
I will always try to link to a product using affiliate links, even if I am saying good or bad things about that. You should assume all links are affiliate links.
I don’t let a links ability to generate money affect my opinion of a product, and I will always do my best to find the best link for a consumer, even if that happens to earn me less money or it turns out to not be an affiliate link.
Generally, I will always link to Amazon, because it is easiest, but I will do my best to find the cheapest price for any product possible.
Affiliate Programs I am part of:
Amazon, AWIN (multiple companies), Tapfiliate (multiple companies), Trade Double, Web Gains, and many more.
The vast majority of reviews done on the site are provided free of charge via a PR company. I do not let this affect the review even if it does not end up the way the company or PR firm would like.
I appreciate there is a psychological aspect of parting with your own money and your opinion of it. I am quite price-sensitive with my reviews and always do my best to look for alternative products to gain a better grasp of if a product is good relative to the cost of its competition.
Content written on Mighty Gadget is the opinion of myself and will be as honest to the best of my ability.
I will always attempt to credit any information that has come from a third party.
I make mistakes a lot. Most of the time this will be harmless, spelling, grammar, mistakes in product names etc.
Some times this will be more serious, from quoting inaccurate sources or data that doesn’t accurately represent a product.
I encourage people to correct me, it is a learning process for myself, and it improves the accuracy of the blog. For corrections that are more are more serious than my quality of writing, the correction will need to be justified, for example, linking me to a product page with the correct specs.
Right to Reply
I review a lot of products; these do not always go the way some people want. Companies, or even individuals, are more than welcome to email or use the comment form to provide their opinion.
I won’t alter reviews to the benefit of a company withing explicitly stating so within the review – for example, a replacement sample was provided. In general, the company right to reply will be amended at the end of the review.

This site does not provide any personal information to advertisers or to third party sites. Advertisers and other third-parties (including the ad networks, ad-serving companies, and other service providers they may use) may assume that users who interact with or click on a personalized ad or content are part of the group that the ad or content is directed towards (for example, readers in the Pacific Northwest who read certain types of articles). Also, some third-party cookies may provide them with information about you (such as the sites where you have been shown ads or demographic information) from offline and online sources that they may use to provide you more relevant and useful advertising.
To learn more about what options you have about limiting the gathering of information by third-party ad networks, you can consult the website of the Network Advertising Initiative.
You can opt out of participating in interest-based advertising networks, but opting out does not mean you will no longer receive online advertising. It does mean that the companies from which you opted out will no longer customize ads based on your interests and web usage patterns using cookie-based technology.
