If you are looking to upgrade the Wi-Fi in your home, Black Friday is the perfect time to buy.

Cheap Mesh Wi-Fi Deals

If you just need to extend your Internet reliably around your home, then a cheap mesh system is likely the best bet.

All of these are dual-band systems, so the satellites won’t offer incredible speeds, but in general, it is faster than what you get from your ISP.

Prices accurate as of 8 am 27/11/2020 all links are affiliate

TP-Link Deco M5 – £139.99

It looks like these are the cheapest they have ever been on Amazon. I have found the TP-Link Deco system the most user friendly to set up, and the ethernet backhaul works well too.

BT Mini Whole Home – £73.49

Not the most advanced system but they are popular and affordable. You can find them around this price quite frequently so not technically an amazing deal.

Asus Zen Wi-Fi CD6 – £95.99

Not used any Asus Wi-Fi gear myself, but they are well-reviewed and offer great value for money. A 2-pack system should be good for most small to medium-sized homes.

Amazon Eero – £149.40

Not used these myself butt hey are popular and at £150 they are a bargain, the downside is the 2 to 3 months delivery.

Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi Deals – For faster connections to the satellite devices

Tri-band systems use one of the Wi-Fi bands as a backhaul to the other satellites, this will dramatically improve the speed of the satellites. This is good if you transfer files around the hoise between devices, or have a very fast internet connection.

NETGEAR RBK50 Router with 1 Satellite Extender NETGEAR RBK50 Router with 1 Satellite Extender No ratings yet £269.95

This used to be the top of the range Netgear system and it is still one of the best Wi-Fi 5 mesh systems on the market.

Not quite the cheapest it has ever been but close

Netgear Orbi RBK23 3-pack for £239.99

NETGEAR RBK23-100UKS NETGEAR RBK23-100UKS No ratings yet

Not quite as fancy as the RBK50 range, apart for the reduced number of ethernet ports, you probably won’t notice the difference. The RBK23 is the system I used to use personally before I wired the home up with Ethernet.

Linksys WHW0303 Velop for £219.99

Not used it myself, and it has a few mixed reviews, but £220 for a tri-band system with three devices is a bargain.

Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Systems

If you have bought s flagship phone or a new laptop recently, it will probably have Wi-Fi 6, offering a much faster throughput speed. Similar to the Wi-Fi 5 options, you have dual band and tri-band systems. This will have a big difference in price and the speed of the satellites.

Netgear Nighthawk MK62 – £159.99

PreviewProductRatingPrice
NETGEAR MK62-100UKS NETGEAR MK62-100UKS No ratings yet

The Netgear Nighthawk MK62 is a dual-band system so the satellite device will drop in speed quite a bit, but the main router can connect at speeds up to 1200mbps. It is a bargain at this price and over £50 cheaper than it has ever been.

Linksys MX10600 – £479.99

Even with 31% knocked off this is still painfully expensive. This tri-band system is one of the best-specced options on the market and has an impressive 5 Ethernet ports per node, though no multi-gig ports

ASUS RT-AX92U AX6100 – £286.99

Being a tri-band system, it should offer a similar performance to the Linksys but at a much more attractive price point.

Wi-Fi 5 Routers

If you need to replace your ISP provided Wi-Fi router and don’t have a massive house, there are plenty of cheap Wi-Fi 5 options. I’d be inclined to go for Wi-Fi 6 for future-proofing, but TP-Link has some good buys.

Wi-Fi 6 Routers

Huawei AX3 – £44.99

The Huawei AX3 is the option I would buy if you want a cheap upgrade to the ISP supplied router. £45 and Wi-Fi 6 is incredible

Linksys MR7350 for £89.99

Double the price but more feature rich and the option to upgrade to mesh
