Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has announced its latest flagship smartphone series, the Xiaomi 14. The new devices boast cutting-edge specs, stunning design, and advanced camera technology developed in collaboration with iconic camera brand Leica.
At the time of writing, I have not been provided the official press release for the Xiaomi 14 Pro or 14 Ultra, so the below is based on the smaller Xiaomi 14.

Stunning New Design with Ultra-Thin Bezels
The Xiaomi 14 introduces an ultra-thin bezel design to maximise screen real estate. Advanced manufacturing techniques integrate display circuits into the panel itself to achieve an extraordinarily slim 1.71mm chin bezel. This near bezel-less construction creates an incredibly immersive viewing experience.
The rear glass back panel gently curves to ensure a comfortable and secure grip. An elegant camera bump draws inspiration from the Clous de Paris watch decoration.
Xiaomi 14 comes in three colours – Black, White and Jade Green. The matte black AG glass back minimises fingerprints, while the white variant features stunning mirror-polished metal sides. The jade green model channels natural tones in a sleek glass back.
Groundbreaking Leica Camera Technology
For the first time in a Xiaomi phone, the Xiaomi 14 incorporates professional-grade Leica camera technology to achieve DSLR-level photography.
The main 50MP camera boasts a large f/1.6 aperture and is paired with Leica’s Summilux optics. Together with Xiaomi’s Light Fusion 900 image sensor, this enables sensational low light performance with faster exposure speeds and naturally blurred backgrounds.
An innovative Leica 75mm floating telephoto lens is introduced, delivering 2x optical zoom for portraits and macro shots. A 14mm Leica ultrawide lens captures expansive scenes and tight spaces in full 50MP clarity.
Advanced features include two Leica photographic styles, a quad microphone array for directional audio recording, and end-to-end Dolby Vision HDR video capture.
CrystalRes Dynamic AMOLED Display
Visuals come alive on the Xiaomi 14’s stunning 6.36” AMOLED panel. The cutting-edge CrystalRes display supports a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate for flawlessly smooth motion.
With a 12-bit colour depth and 2600 x 1200 resolution, content appears vibrant and highly detailed. Exceptional peak brightness of 3000 nits ensures excellent HDR performance even in bright sunlight.
The display meets TÜV Rheinland’s EyeSafe certification and uses DC dimming for comfortable extended viewing. Blue light emission is reduced by 56% compared to previous Xiaomi flagships.
Flagship Performance from Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 14 packs Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Fabricated on an efficient 4nm process, the octa-core CPU and Adreno GPU deliver up to 30% faster performance versus last year’s models.
MIUI’s revamped HyperOS software adds slick animations and visual effects while enhancing system fluidity. New smart features enable seamless cross-device connectivity and robust security.
A sizeable 4610mAh battery easily lasts over a day of typical usage. Impressive fast charging support sees a full charge take just 31 minutes with the bundled 90W wired charger. 50W wireless charging is also available.
Availability and Pricing
The Xiaomi 14 series will be available to buy soon. Pricing is yet to be confirmed. Early leaks indicated the vanilla Xiaomi 14 will set you back €1,099 for the sole 12GB/512GB variant. Meanwhile, the sole 16GB/512GB Xiaomi 14 Ultra is said to cost €1,499.
Personally, it seems unlikely that Xiaomi 14 will cost €1,099/£940 as that seems very high. I can believe the Xiaomi 14 Ultra would be €1,499 as it will be positioned against devices like the S24 Ultra.
