Today, Xiaomi has announced the new Xiaomi 12T Pro, and it has an incredible specifications for the price.
This is one of the first phones to feature the new 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 camera sensor.
200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 vs ISOCELL HM3
This isn’t just a sensor with a lot of megapixels, but it is also physically large at 1/1.22″, which outclasses the vast majority of sensors which are used on flagship phones currently.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is one of the best flagship phones of the year, and that uses the HM3, which is “just” a 108MP camera sensor and is 1/1.33″ in size. So, in theory, the Xiaomi 12T Pro with the ISOCELL HP1 should be able to outperform this.
The main camera is then paired up with two less impressive sensors, including a 8MP ultra-wide angle camera and 2MP macro camera with 20MP on the front.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1
The Xiaomi 12T Pro also uses Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1. This chipset switched from the Samsung fabrication process to TSMC. When I tested this with the Red Magic 7S Pro, there was a significant improvement in efficiency, which resulted in lower temperatures and much better battery life.
5000mAH battery and 120W charging
Talking about the battery, this has a much larger than average battery, and it is one of the fastest charging phones on the market.
120Hz 6.67″ CrystalRes AMOLED DotDisplay
Not forgetting the display, this has a nicely sized 6.67″ display that runs at 2712 x 1220 with 120Hz refresh rate. The refresh rate is adaptive with 30Hz/60Hz/90Hz/120Hz, and it has a typical brightness of 500nits with 900nits peak.
Price and Availability
The Xiaomi 12T Pro will be available from the 20th of October with an RRP of £699.
A more affordable none pro model will launch alongside with two storage variants, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB, with an RRP of £499 and £549.
