The OKP K5 is an affordable robot vacuum cleaner with strong suction, smart features, and long battery life. After testing, I found it cleans thoroughly on hard floors and carpets, has good obstacle avoidance, and is very easy to use.
The main issue is the lack of proper mapping with LiDAR or vSLAM that you find on more expensive vacuums. There are also no boundary strips for containing it within one room like the RoboVac 30C. For me, this means this vacuum is best suited for cleaning a single room at a time. It works well in my kitchen, which is quite a large open space.

What’s missing compared to higher-end models is advanced mapping and navigation through either LiDAR or VSLAM. It doesn’t have Lidar or intelligent mapping to recognise rooms and create efficient cleaning paths. But the robot does have infrared sensors that can intelligently identify and avoid white walls, stairs and obstacles.
Design and Build Quality
The OKP K5 looks like most generic robot vacuums. It sports a compact, circular design, making it easy for the device to navigate under furniture and through tight spaces. Its overall height is a significant advantage over many other models, as it allows the device to easily access areas that larger models may struggle with.
The vacuum cleaner features a white exterior and includes a bumper at the front to protect furniture and walls from potential damage. The device also houses infrared sensors to help it navigate your home effectively.
The build quality is impressive. Both the robot and its docking station are well-constructed, with no signs of creaking or cracking. The surface seems to be resistant to scratches and dirt, suggesting that it will maintain its sleek appearance even after extensive use.
The vacuum is 75mm high, and OKP states this can fit under obstacles that are 80mm high.
Brushless Design
The only thing that is really noteworthy about the design of the OKP K5 is the fact that it is brushless. I don’t think I have seen this design on a robot vacuum before. As you might guess, this removes the brush that almost all vacuums have that roll on the floor and pull up any dirt and grime.
Instead, this uses two sweepers that direct debris and dirt towards a vent that then sucks up the dirt.
Without using the robot vacuum, I could see a big pro and con for this design.
We have no pets, but my partner has long hair, and I can not understate how bad her shedding must me, I am constantly chopping out hair from the roller of my main robot vacuum and over time the hair has caused damage to the little fins on the vacuum. So I love the idea of a brushless roller-free vacuum.
However, a brush is used in the vast majority of vacuums for a reason, suction alone is not going to pull up debris very easily off certain surfaces.
Set-Up
The robot comes with side brushes that need to be attached and a docking station that needs to be connected to a power outlet. Once the device is switched on and placed in the docking station, it may require some time to fully charge before its first use.
Getting started with the OKP K5 is quick and painless, you just follow the steps within the app which includes turning the vacuum on and holding down the power button. It uses Bluetooth for the initial connection and to pass the WiFi credentials over.
The process took about 10 minutes total. The app is called OKP Home and provides all the standard options for cleaning control and scheduling. It’s simple to use with an intuitive interface.
App and Settings
The OKP app is user-friendly and intuitive. It offers a clear overview of the robot’s cleaning path and progress and allows you to make various settings adjustments. You can choose from four different cleaning modes — Auto, Edge, Random and Spot cleaning — and set cleaning schedules to automate your cleaning process.
The app also offers remote access, allowing you to start and monitor the cleaning process while on the go. The device offers three different power levels, with the maximum level offering the full 2,500 Pascal. It’s worth noting that the OKP K5 is a notably quiet robot vacuum cleaner, even on its highest setting.
For those who prefer voice control, the device is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Cleaning Performance
The OKP K5 shines on hard floors, efficiently picking up dust, dirt, and pet hair effectively. It worked perfectly in my kitchen dining area where a lot of debris falls on the floor. So far, the brushless design has meant that it has not been clogged up with hair at all, which is a huge positive for me.
However, its performance is somewhat reduced on carpets due to the lack of a main brush. While the suction level at the highest setting is good, it just doesn’t pull up dirt, debris, and hair the same way a normal robot vacuum would.
The vacuum cleaner offers three suction levels, with the highest level producing the best results and you will need the highest level for carpets. However, this also places the most demand on the battery. If you have a large area to clean and want to avoid an intermediate charging pause, the gentle mode may be the best option.
While this does not have LiDAR mapping, it uses sensors and gyroscopic guidance to clean in a zig-zag pattern. This worked surprisingly well in my kitchen, my old Eufy would bounce around bashing into things occasionally getting stuck, but this vacuum seemed to clean my kitchen quite efficiently.
As I have an oddly shaped house with five downstairs rooms, the robot vacuum wasn’t very effective at negotiating around the home. I mainly used it for my kitchen area only, but would manually place it in a living room when needed.
Battery Life
The OKP K5 has an excellent 120 minute runtime, allowing it to clean rooms in a single job. I have a mostly open floor plan kitchen diner, and it was able to complete full cleanings with plenty of battery left.
It automatically recharges and resumes cleaning if the battery gets too low. So you don’t have to worry about it dying mid-job. The long battery life is a major advantage compared to cheaper robot vacuums that may only run for 60-90 minutes. It’s one of the highlights of the K5’s performance.

After testing the OKP K5, I was impressed with its thorough cleaning performance, long battery life, and easy-to-use app. It’s a great value, affordable robot vacuum suitable for homes with mostly hard floors and an open plan design or for use in a single room at a time.
The brushless design is great for hardwood floors as it doesn’t clog up with hair as easily as normal robot vacuums, but this design is not very effective on carpets.
