I loved the GEEKOM Mini IT8 Mini desktop PC, which I reviewed at the end of last year. It is perfect for a low-powered and affordable home office PC or as a media PC and Plex server.
At the time of my review, the Mini IT8 was priced at £460 and had a £50 off voucher, taking it to £410.

This is the best GEEKOM Mini PC that is currently in stock, and it features the Intel i7-11390H CPU, which has Intel Iris integrated graphics. It comes equipped with a fast 512GB NVMe drive and 16GB of DDR4.
There is a spare 2.5” SATA drive slot should you wish to expand your storage.
This should be more than powerful enough for most home office scenarios, including more demanding work such as graphic design. Alternatively, it should be able to handle light gaming, or it would be perfect as a small, low-powered Plex server and media PC.
There is a single HDMI 2.0 port then a mini display port for dual display systems. You can extend the system further with either of the USB4 ports, which support display out.
On top of the two USB4 20Gbps ports, you have an additional three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, which should do 5Gbps. There is a gigabit Ethernet port, an SD card reader, and a 3.5mm AUC port.
For wireless connectivity, you have Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
This is pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro, which is worth about £100 itself.
Overall, this is a superb and powerful mini PC for the money, and I think it is well worth the extra over the excellent Mini IT8.

If you can’t quite stretch your budget to the Mini IT11, I wouldn’t worry too much, as the Mini IT8 is a brilliant mini PC that I can personally vouch for.
This uses the older Intel Core i5-8279U with integrated Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655. It has the same 16GB RAM and 512GB NVMe.
For I/O ports you have:

- 1 x SD card reader
- 1 x 3.5 mm headphone jack
- 1 x RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port
- 1 x HDMI 2.0 port

This then has Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2. The Wi-Fi card is soldered on, so you can’t replace it, but you could use a Wi-Fi 6 USB dongle if you really need it.
