Xiaomi is finally entering the UK market officially. Mobile operator Three has confirmed that Xiaomi devices will be sold online and in its 327 high-street stores from Friday 9 November.

For the first time in the UK you will be able to buy a Xiaomi phone on a contract, rather than having to find the budget for the full amount up front and choosing a SIM-only deal.

Xiaomi will launch its new “flagship” smartphone in the UK along with the various smart home Mi products from November 8th. Users would be able to buy the new Xiaomi products from online and offline retailers.

This will coincide with the launch of their new Mi experience store in the Westfield London shopping centre on November 10.

The new Xioami UK team will be hosting a Mi Community London treasure hunt on October 27th.

At the moment we don’t know what phones will be landing but it is likely that the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and Mi Mix 8 Pro will be among the releases. I would also expect to see their Android One devices such as the Xiaomi MI A1 and A2

Xiaomi has had some limited products available in Spain and other European markets via Amazon, but this could be the largest rollout in to the western market to date. There is a huge amount of demand for their products and many people resort to importing them from China via websites such as GearBest, however, in recent months it appears Xiaomi have been trying to clamp down on users accessing their Chinese focussed phones.

Xiaomi models are typically far more affordable than many of the brands we see available in the UK, the Pocophone F1 is the cheapest Snapdragon 845 phone on the market which is available on Gearbest for as little as £240.

It will be interesting to see what the UK prices will be like, I would expect there to be quite a jump, but you will have the safety of a UK based warranty and UK/global software running on the phones, and presumably Google Play.

Xiaomi is also talking about its expansion to Ireland as they have planned a launch event on November 1. Following the launch into these new regions Xiaomi  is believed to be launching into the US market.
