The Xiaomi 13 series was announced in China back in December, and at MWC 2023, it has been officially launched globally.
There have recently been some leaks suggesting a Xiaomi 13 Ultra is arriving, but sadly this was not announced, and previous Ultra models didn’t receive a global launch.
Three models are launching, the Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, and Xiaomi 13 Lite.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro will be one of the best-specced phones to launch this year and will make an excellent alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and is priced £150 lower than the Samsung.
The Xiaomi 13 Lite could be one of the best affordable phones of the year, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 should have more than enough processing power for anyone, and it has an excellent 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for the main camera. It should be an excellent alternative choice to the Pixel 7.

Xiaomi unveils its latest flagship smartphone line-up – Xiaomi 13 Series – to its international markets. In partnership with Leica, Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro offers a brand new smartphone photography experience to its international users. The highly anticipated dual flagship models offer Leica professional optical lenses, as well as a host of advanced computational and software capabilities to provide an authentic Leica experience. Master-level photography with Leica co-engineered camera system
Every aspect of Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro’s camera system has been created in collaboration with Leica to deliver a pro-grade smartphone photography experience. Both smartphones are kitted with a triple camera setup featuring Leica optical lenses.
Xiaomi 13 Pro features the Leica Vario-Summicron 1:19-2.2/14-75 ASPH. camera system, which covers focal lengths from 14mm to 75mm and are comprised of a 23mm wide-angle main camera with an ultra-large 1-inch IMX989 sensor, a 75mm floating telephoto camera, as well as a 14mm ultra-wide-angle camera. First seen on Xiaomi 12S Ultra, the IMX989 sensor is the largest sensor ever incorporated into a smartphone. The master-lens system software provides great focal length and depth of field for capturing perfect portraits.
