Working for myself, I don’t have to do secret Santa, and with working from home being much more common, many people may be able to duck out of it this year.

For those of you that do have to buy a gift for a colleague, this list may help. My gender-specific title is mainly because I am more likely to get some traffic from a targetted term, and I don’t have as much insight into a woman’s tastes! Most of these should work for everyone though.

£5 and under

Office Bingo Card Coaster

As humourless and practical as I am, I am sure most people could find this office bullsh*t bingo coaster funny for a few minutes, at least.

Finding anything under a fiver that isn’t complete tat has been challenging. A few card games come under £5, and I am sure they will come in useful over Christmas when spending time with families.

Metal Straw

Everyone hates paper straws, so having a few metal straws is always handy.

Food-related gifts are perhaps your best bet for under a fiver, or perhaps 1 or 2 cans/bottles of good craft beer?

£5 to £10

Whisky Stones Gift Set

Not a bad gift for anyone that enjoys Whisky or drinking spirits neat.

Multi Tool Pen

This could be bordering on tat, but it is probably something I’d find useful on my office desk. I regularly need a small screwdriver for all the tech within my house. Even the ruler has some use as I often find myself trying to measure parcels for the post office.

Precision Screwdriver Set

A more practical gift, useful for most people, but especially anyone that is a tech fan with a tendency of fixing/tinkering/building things.

Magnetic Wristband

To complement the screwdrivers. Whenever I do DIY or fix electronics, I am always dropping screws. I am not sure how practical this is, but it’s a tenner and would make a decent secret Santa gift.

Universal Socket

A universal socket wrench is equipped with a power drill adapter, easily connected with most electric drills, electric screwdrivers, and a manual ratchet set.

Plant Theatre Vegetable Seeds

No products found.

Whether you’re a keen planter or a complete newbie, this from Funky Veg Kit by Plant Theatre is perfect for personal use or as a gift such as secret Santa.

The vegetables included are a little different than your generic, so it is a little bit more fun. This includes purple carrots, red Brussel sprouts and yellow courgette.

Extra Large Gaming Mouse Mat

No products found.

This is good for any PC gamer you may want to buy a gift for. It is a bit boring with no design, but everything else costs more.

RGB Gaming Mouse Mat Pad

I’d prefer the extra large plain black mat, but many gamers love RGB, and I am sure they would appreciate this.

£10 to £20

Professional Magnetic Screwdriver Set

Another practical gift. This covers a wider range of screwdriver sizes, from precision electronics up to standard DIY screwdriver sizes. Plus some sockets too.

Cards Against Humanity

This is always a fun game to play over Christmas, as long as you are not easily offended.

Echo Dot (3rd Gen)

You can’t really go wrong with an Echo Dot as a Christmas present when it costs under £20

Beer Glass

I have already covered beer glasses in my beer guide, but it is a good suggestion for secret Santa too. Tiny Rebel has two options on Amazon, or you could buy direct from many breweries.

The Beer Hawk option gives you 5-beers and glass for around £17, which is a bargain.

£20 to £30

Fire TV Stick

All the TVs in my house have a Fire TV stick attached to them. They are a great investment. While not on sale at the moment, the Fire TV Stick 4K regularly drops to around £25.

TWS Earbuds

You may be pushing it with the £30 limit if you want good true wireless earbuds, but there are a few options out there. The UGREEN HiTune Wireless Earbuds should be quite good.

Power Bank

It may seem boring but I think everyone would appreciate a power bank. They are always handy.

The Anker one I list is 10000mAh but also has 20W power delivery which is much faster charging than many others.

Alternatively, if you are happy with a noname brand, the Pxwaxpy Power Bank has three times the capacity, faster 25W charging and wireless charging.
