With the new 4-bay D4-300 you connect with USB3.1 which offers up to 5Gbps of bandwidth and is compatible with 3.5” SATA hard drive/2.5” SSD, can support up to 4 hard drives, support total storage capacity up to 72TB (18TB x 4).
With this being direct-attached storage there is no fancy software running on the drive, it shows up as an external drive, and that’s it, however, it is cross-platform compatible with almost no skill to set up.
Unlike some of the more expensive DAS drives that TerraMaster offer, this lacks any RAID functionality, but again, this keeps the cost down.
