At Mobile World Congress 2024, AVM will be demoing several new products, including new FRITZ!Box routers, FRITZ!OS 7.80, and support for emerging connectivity standards like Wi-Fi 7, 10G Ethernet, and 5G.

Wi-Fi 7

One of the most notable announcements is support for Wi-Fi 7, the latest generation of Wi-Fi technology promising faster speeds, lower latency, and increased capacity.

The FRITZ!Box 7682 and FRITZ!Box 5690 XGS both support the new standard, with wireless speeds up to 10 Gbps through the use of wider 320 MHz channels, 4K QAM modulation, and Multi-Link operation that combines two 5 GHz frequency bands.

This should allow the new FRITZ!Box routers to take full advantage of emerging Wi-Fi 7 client devices. The routers are also backwards compatible with older Wi-Fi standards.
