Following on from my review of the Wired2fire Predator Gaming PC, I thought I would quickly benchmark it in Far Cry 6 before I send the PC back.

A quick recap of the spec:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
  • MSI Gaming X RTX 3060 Ti
  • 16GB 3000Mhz DDR4
  • Crucial 1TB NVMe

For my main work PC, I run:

Obviously, it would have been better to keep the main components the same and swap over the GPU, but I don’t think Wired2fire would have been too keen on me dismantling their PC.

The game seems to be reasonably easy to run as long as you have been lucky enough to buy a GPU in the past year or 2. My testing was done with the graphics settings at Ultra with HD textures on, and also all the other optional settings enabled, including DXR reflections and DXR shadows.

Far Cry 6 is an AMD promoted game, and it would seem that AMD cards are capable of running the game with the highest frame rates possible.

I tested the game running at 2560×1440 and 3840×2160

Overall

I don’t game as much as I used to and one of the last games I put a significant amount of time into was Cyberpunk 2070. So it is nice to have a game that runs well at max settings without any problems.

As you might expect with the 6th instalment of the game, things are getting a bit repetitive, but I am a sucker for open-world adventure games, so I am still having fun.
