The Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 was announced back in September, but somehow, I completely missed it. This is the first proper Wi-Fi 6E router to be announced. This week it, it was finally made available on Amazon US for a hefty $549.99, $100 more than the GT-AX11000 it replaces. Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 vs Asus…
Ubiquiti are one of the last cloud networking providers to launch a Wi-Fi 6 access point, but they have made up for this by launching, by far, the most affordable solution on the market. Combined with the free to use UniFi Network Controller, there is no wonder why Ubiquiti has generated a loyal user base…
I am currently in the process of reviewing the Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Lite. This new Wi-Fi 6 access point is quite exciting (to me) with it being the most affordable option on the market by a considerable margin. Ubiquiti is also an appealing choice for home users, SOHO and microbusiness thanks to the affordable hardware…
The EWS850AP is the first WiFi 6 outdoor solution by EnGenius. The edge 802.11ax built-in ultra-speed access point with OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology for high-density use on multiple applications. Unlike my more recent Engenius reviews this AP uses the slightly older ezMaster, Skykey controller, and EWS Management switch methods of control compared to the Engenius…

Vilfo is an offshoot from OVPN, started by them, but independent from them. Originally things started with the development of OVPNbox, which was a router based on pfSense. They later found that pfSense…

In one of my recent posts, I covered how to maximise the WiFi speeds for the PS5, PC and Xbox Series X. It is always best to go with a wired option where possible, but if you have to use WiFi then a WiFi 6 router is your best bet. For gamers, WiFi, or more…
I first reviewed the cloud-managed Netgear Insight GC110P POE switch back in 2018, I have subsequently reviewed the more powerful GC510PP POE switch and WAC505 Wi-Fi 5 access point. So far, I have been impressed with their gear, the hardware is affordable, and the Netgear Insight system is user friendly, allowing people without extensive networking…
TerraMaster has expanded their 10GbE NAS range with its largest offering yet, the 8-bay F8-422. While this has twice the number of drives bays as the TerraMaster F4-422 I previously reviewed, the overall hardware specification is almost identical, the one exception being this has 8GB of RAM installed compared to 4GB. Currently the TerraMaster F8-422…
I’ve often found myself in situations where optimal network performance is non-negotiable, especially for gaming.
