I previously reviewed the Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Lite, which was my first experience using Unifi properly within my home. I was delighted with its performance for the price, and my compulsive spending got the better of me, so I ordered the Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Long Range as soon as I hit publish on the Lite…
When I originally wrote my best mesh WiFi routers posts back in 2019, times were simpler. WiFi 6 was a future tech with no clients able to support it, WiFi 6E hadn’t been officially announced and we were still allowed to go to the pub. Fast forward to 2021, WiFi 6 has gone mainstream, all…
Announced at IFA 2019 the Netgear Orbi WiFi 6 Tri-band Mesh System RBK852 (or RBK853 for the three-pack) sits at the very top of the Netgear line up of mesh wi-fi systems. There is no doubting that it is a superb system if you have very demanding requirements, or just a high budget then it…
Update – With the MikroTik out of stock there are two options on Amazon by Paradar which have an 8.5dbi Antenna or a 4.5dbi antenna. The Taotronics Tri-Band AC3000 tri-band mesh system is the first mesh system from Taotronics, and by the looks of things, their first attempt at networking products in general. They are better known for their affordable TWS earphones, which I have reviewed plenty of. They haven’t messed about either; this is a tri-band WiFi 5 system…
We have already seen Asus and Netgear launch WiFi 6E routers, offering reliable ultra-fast connections using 160Mhz on the 6Ghz frequency. TP-Link & Linksys are taking a different approach with their first WiFi 6E devices, and just straight in with a mesh system. TP-Link have the Deco X76 Plus and the X96 Plus while Linksys…
In my recent Netgear Insight review, I pointed out that Netgear lacked any multi-gig switches that could power the 2.5GbE equipped access points. Not anymore, they haven’t. Yesterday, at CES 2021, Nethear announced two new multi-gig switches, the – MS510TXM and the MS510TXUP. They are basically the same, but the MS510TXUP supports Ultra60 PoE++, which…
