The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 is a premium MagSafe charging stand designed for iPhone 12 and later models. It offers 15W fast charging, an adjustable viewing angle, and a sleek, modern design. However, at £110, is the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 worth the investment, and how does it compare with other options on the market?

Specifications / Features

  • 15W MagSafe fast charge support for iPhone

Design

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 has a sleek and modern design that complements the aesthetic of the latest iPhones.

One of the first things I noticed about this charger was how heavy it was. It feels like a paperweight. It is that heavy. The base also has a non-slip surface, so the charging stand remains stable even when the viewing angle is adjusted.

The 0-70 degrees adjustable viewing angle allows users to use their iPhone in portrait or landscape mode, making it ideal for watching videos, making Facetime calls, or using it as a second screen. With the charger placed flat, you can then also use it to charge other devices such as earbuds.

The soft-touch housing material feels premium and adds a touch of elegance to the product.

The MagSafe technology ensures a secure and efficient charging experience, with iPhones or MagSafe-compatible cases snapping into place with a satisfying magnetic connection.

On the rear of the charger is a metallic plate where you place your Apple Watch. I think I would have preferred this on the side so that the watch is a bit more visible. I also have the charger placed just under my monitor, so it is slightly awkward to reach around and pick up the watch.

The premium braided USB-C cable is a nice addition, and with 1.5m of length, you have plenty of flexibility for placement.

The wireless charger also includes a USB plug.

Most competing options, like the Anker MagGo 3-in-1 QI2 charging station, don’t come with a USB cable or plug. While it may seem like a insignificant addition for someone like myself that has loads of cables and plugs,  you are probably saving around £20 by not having to buy extra bits with the Belkin.

In-Use #

There is not much to say about the performance of the Belkin BoostCharge. It works as advertised.

My USB power meter confirms the output as 15W when charging iPhones. For Android phones that have a MagSafe case, such as the Honor Magic 6 Pro, the phone is limited to 7.5W.

The Apple Watch also charges as expected and you can potentially charge other watches with QI charging. However, the charging plate has a dimple in it designed to fit the Apple Watch and this may prevent some watches charging. I wasn’t able to charge my Huawei Watch GT 3, for example.

Price and Alternative Options

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 has an RRP of £110 and is available from Belkin, Apple and Amazon.

Belkin also has:

  • BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 for £140
  • BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad for £140
  • BoostCharge Pro for £50 with power supply or £40 without

For competing options, you have:

  • Anker 3-in-1 Cube for £150
  • Anker MagGo Charger (3-in-1 Station) for £90
  • Anker MagGo 3-in-1 QI2 Wireless Foldable Charging Station for £100
  • Anker MagGo 3-in-1 QI2 Wireless Charging Station Stand for £90
  • ESR 3 in 1 Wireless Charging Station for £60

You also have many competing options at lower price points from random brands.

Overall

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 is a premium wireless charging station that has a superior build and aesthetic than most competing options.

The use of MagSafe technology, the adjustable viewing angle, the build quality, and all of these contribute to its value.

I personally think over £100 for a wireless charger is excessive but if you look at options from reputable competing brands, then the price isn’t that unreasonable. The overall build quality and appearance are superior to any of the Anker options I have listed.

It is a shame this isn’t QI2, which would provide higher charge speeds for up-and-coming Android phones that may feature QI2. However, these won’t be launched for a while so it won’t make much difference for most buyers.

In conclusion, the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 is a good option for any iPhone user who wants a 2-in-1 wireless charger with an aesthetic appearance and high-quality build.
