JSAUX Omnicase 2 Pro Review – USB-C 12-in-1 docking station & storage + Laptop & Steam Deck Stand
JSAUX produce various accessories for electronics, such as docking stations and chargers. They have specialised in various accessories for the Steam Deck, including a 6-in-1 docking station that has a slot of M.2 NVMe drives for expanding your storage.
A couple of years ago, they launched a successful Kickstarter campaign for the JSAUX Omnicase Pro, which is an innovative docking station that integrates a cable organiser and includes a USB-C cable plus various adaptors.
They are now following this up with another Kickstarter campaign for the new Omnicase 2 and Omnicase 2 Pro. They have also launched a new laptop stand, and Steam Deck stand that work with these new docking stations.
JSAUX Omnicase 2 Pro vs JSAUX Omnicase 2 – What additional ports are on the Pro?

The highlight of the Omnicase 2 docking stations is that they have a magnetic lid, and inside this, you have a short USB-C cable and a range of adaptors for it. You also have a handy SIM ejection tool and slots for SD cards, microSD and SIM cards.
For the docking station part, there is nothing particularly noteworthy. The Omnicase 2 has ports around three edges which means you don’t block off any ports when you use it with the Steam Deck Stand.
On the base of the docking station, you have labels for each port. This is important as it wasn’t obvious which is the PD port and which is the host port.

JSAUX also sent over a stand for laptops and one for the Steamdeck. I don’t have a Steamdeck to test this with, but I have used the laptop stand.
The main thing to highlight is that each stand has a magnetic plate which will then hold the Omnicase in place. It is a clever design as it makes everything much neater and easier to manage.
JSAUX already do a lot of Steam Deck docking stations, but with this system, you have the flexibility to separate the Omnicase 2 and use it for other applications.
The Omnicase 2 mounts perfectly into the Steam Deck stand, and I can appreciate how useful this would be.
In-Use
For testing, I set up a temporary workstation in my kitchen and worked from there as I typed up this review.
In my pictures, I made use of the Steam Deck stand to prop up my Desklab monitor. The monitor is USB-C, but I did test the HDMI output worked with a normal monitor.
With this setup, I used the included USB-C cable to plug the Omnicase 2 Pro into the monitor, then this fed back into the laptop.
I was also able to use the Anker 737 Power Bank to provide power for the devices via the 100W USB-C power delivery port on the Omnicase 2 Pro.
The keyboard and mouse are both wired, and I also plugged these into the docking station (even though I had enough USB-A ports).
I found the laptop stand to be excellent. It brings the display up to eye level and also means the keyboard had a bit of room to fit a little bit under when the laptop would sit if it was flat on the desk.
My only issue with the laptop stand is that I would love to use this setup when I travel, but the design of the stand is a bit impractical to pack away into a case.
As you can see from my pictures, the Omnicase 2 Pro gives you the potential to have a nice clean setup, but if you are messy like me and only have long USB cables, you will still end up with a mess of cables.
My main criticism would be that the USB ports are only USB 3.2 Gen 1/USB 3.0, which limits the speeds to 5Gbps. I think at least one USB 3.2 Gen 2 should be included.
Price and Alternative Options
For Kickstarter backers, the OmniCase 2 Pro will be available along with a curved laptop stand at a price of $99.99.
Kickstarter backers will get the Omnicase 2 along with its stand for Steam Deck (SG0106) at $79.99.
The original OmniCase Pro was launched on Kickstarter starting at $59 and had an RRP of $109. It is currently being sold for $54.99.
JSAUX also has the HB1101 11-in-1 docking station, which lacks handy cables and storage. This is $69.99.
Amazon has so many docking stations it is difficult to recommend anything specific. However, there are plenty of options for around £50.

Overall
I really like all these JSAUX products. The OmniCase 2 Pro is almost certainly going to be placed permanently in my laptop bag for when I travel, as it is ideal for my needs.
I recently criticised the cost of many of the multi-monitor docking stations out there, but I think $100 is reasonable if you get it during the Kickstart phase.
The Omnicase 2 is probably better value for money, especially if you have a Steam Deck. It’s $20 cheaper, and the stand is included.
The lack of USB 3.2 Gen 2 is a bit disappointing, but this seems to be something that is used on premium-priced products.
