To be extra thoughtful, you can even set up a frame and load it with photos before giving it as a gift. With Aura, they realise that’s a selling point and made it possible to set up a frame as a gift that’s pre-loading with your photos.

Aura is the market leader with digital photo frames and the best brand I have personally used. I have previously reviewed the Aura Frames Mason Luxe and Aura Carver and thought they were both superb hence, I have two listings for Aura.
I gave the Carver to my partner’s sister-in-law and the Mason Luxe to my sister, and they both absolutely loved it.
For the Mason, this comes in two sizes with either the Mason / Mason Luxe, with the only difference being the size and resolution.
The Aura Frames Mason has a 9” 1600 x 1200 display, while the Mason Luxe has a 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 display.
While I prefer the larger Mason Luxe, you have to consider the price. At the time of writing, the Luxe is £229 while the smaller Mason is just £159.
For the Mason range, these work in both landscape and portrait orientation, which is the main selling point over the Carver below. I also prefer the frame design of the Mason vs Carver.
Beyond that, Aura frames have an intelligent photo pairing feature cleverly groups similar photos, creating a dynamic viewing experience. Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity are available, offering multiple ways to upload photos. The touch bar provides a novel way to interact with the frame, adding a modern twist to photo viewing. With unlimited cloud storage, you never have to worry about running out of space for your memories.

The main selling point of the Carver vs the Mason would be the larger 10.1″ frame and lower price point of just £149.
This frame only works in landscape, and the resolution is lower at 1280 x 800 HD display, but I don’t think the lower resolution is that noticeable. You only glance at a photo frame, it is not like a TV.
The Carver Mat is the same but has a different designed frame. I haven’t seen it in real life, but I think it looks a bit nicer than the Carver design with a modern grey textured frame gets a traditional touch courtesy of a solid black bezel and white mat detailing.

I reviewed the AEEZO Frameo back in 2022, and this is the photo frame we use in our house. Admittedly, I’d prefer an Aura frame as they are much better quality, but I gave them away as Christmas gifts. At £99, you can’t complain too much with this frame. With cheaper frames like this, it is more obvious that it is an LCD display, the matte panel on the Meural and Aura look a bit more natural.
You can use a USB drive to easily import photos or you can use the Frameo App and the built-in storage.
