Following on from my previous ALLPOWERS April discount posts. The final deal they have is for one of their top models, the ALLPOWERS S2000 Portable Power Station. Like the other deals, you can get 20% off taking this one down to £880. It is also available on Amazon for around £900.

As the same suggests, this has a power output of 2000W with a surge output of 4000W, meaning that this can power many kitchen or high-power devices.

It then has a massive 1500Wh battery. For context, my house will typically pull about 750W based on my smart meter with my working from home (but not cooking anything), so I could run my entire home for a couple of hours during working hours and likely longer when I shut down my PC and monitors.

Example uses for a Portable Power Station

ALLPOWERS also has some example times for high-power devices:

  • 1600W hair dryer: 1.2 Hours
  • 1000W Induction Hob: 2 Hours
  • 1000W Microwave Oven: 2 hours
  • 800W Sump Pump: 2.4 hours
  • 65W Car Fridge: 25 hours
  • 60W drone: 30 charges
  • 900W Power Drill: 2.1 Hours
  • 1500W Electric Saw: 1.6 Hours
  • Electric Vehicle: 12-14Km

Granted, you are probably not going to be using a hair dryer for 1.2 hours, and the car fried figure is inaccurate because the fridge doesn’t pull 65W continuously.

However, it shows the potential of these devices. I have a friend that bought a 1kWh power station from me so he can use it in his shed for power tools, which isn’t wired up to the mains.

Additionally, CPAP machines are often used with portable power stations. These have a relatively low power draw that’s typically around 30-60W, but with heated humidifiers on higher pressure settings, CPAP machines can require as much as 70-100 watts for operation. Therefore a power station like this will be good for 15 hours.

With this being such a high-capacity power station, it weighs in at 14.5kg, making it a bit cumbersome, but it is ideal for people staying off grid, while still wanting to use the luxuries of modern life.

ALLPOWERS S1500 Price and Discount Code

  • SAVE 20% with code: ZNJPF41BHK4E
  • Expires in April, 2023
  • Was: £1,499 RRP then £1,099.99 with the on-page discount

If you look at competing brands, it will normally cost around £1000 for a 1kWh portable power station, and 1500Wh models tend to cost closer to £1500.

ALLPOWERS S1500 Features

As mentioned, this has a 1500Wh battery which uses a ternary polymer lithium battery (NMC) and is what helps keep the price down. Other brands that use this style of battery state you will get 500 to 800 life cycles. ALLPOWERS states that their batteries can achieve 1,000+ life cycles.

Charging

In comparison to some of the other ALLPOWERS power stations, this has a built-in power pack, so you plug the kettle lead directly into the power station. I much prefer this design because I always mislay power packs.

For charging:

  • AC input has 400W giving you a full charge in about 4 hours
  • Solar input goes up to 500W and uses MC-4 to XT60. If you sustain 500W, this will charge in about 3.5 hours.
  • Car Outlet using 12V /24V gives you a full charge in about 6-12 hrs

Unlike the smaller power stations, this does not accept USB-C power delivery input.

You can then combine the input methods such as

  • Wall outlet + solar panel (900W max., fully charged about 2 hrs)
  • Wall outlet + car outlet (640W max., fully charged about 3 hrs)

Outputs – Power 11 devices at once

This has:

  • 4x AC output that can do a continuous power of 2000W
  • 4X USB-A
  • 2x USB-C with 100 power delivery output
  • 1x Car output of 13V10A

ALLPOWERS App

You can also pair the power station up with you’re the ALLPOWERS app to get some stats and change settings. The power station supports both Bluetooth and WiFi.

Within the app, you will get feedback on the current capacity, input and output power, expected discharge/charge time and what ports are in use.
