Mercku is a new company to me. They are a Canadian company that was founded in 2017. They claim to be a full-stack tech company with in-house design, engineering, testing, deployment and support for our Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). They are well established in the US with multiple products on Amazon.com, and they are now…
Walls are the bane of WiFis’ existence. When you see the coverage claims from companies, it is always for open spaces, as if we all live frolicking outdoors. In the UK, many of us live in older homes, and that means thick brick-built internal walls which are not kind to our WiFi. Or, for businesses,…
Devolo is perhaps best known for its range of dLAN and Magic powerline Wi-Fi extenders and mesh systems. Thanks to the G.hn technology they use for powerline, they have the best performing powerline systems on the market. They also have a range of Wi-Fi repeaters. These have fallen out of fashion in recent years in…
Yesterday, Netgear announced a new top of the range Wi-Fi 6 access point, choosing to go down a different path than competing brands, which could be quite useful for many users. While it is common for many cloud-managed access points to offer mesh Wi-Fi, the are not many, if any, that have a tri-band radio….
One of the more interesting announcements at Next@Acer was the diversification into the router market. This is a little more cohesive with their product portfolio than last years Acerpure Cool air purifier. The announcement isn’t for any old router either; this is the first Intel Killer-compatible 5G CPE in the world. I am not sure…
All cutting-edge technology is painfully expensive at launch. The flagship Netgear Nighthawk RAX200 launched on Amazon in June 2019 for close to £500 and is still £405. The TP-Link Archer AX11000 was available in late 2019 for £380. In the past year, we have seen most companies launch much more affordable models, with all the…
TP-Link has expanded its range of Wi-Fi 6 devices with two new Wi-Fi 6 extenders that use the TP-Link OneMesh system. What is TP-Link OneMesh? OneMesh allows you to mix and match products within the TP-link range allowing you to expand the system as your requirements change. It is also a good way to use…
Today, Netgear has quietly listed the new Nighthawk MK83 on their website, offering a significant upgrade to the affordable Netgear Nighthawk MK63 I reviewed last year. The main difference with the new Netgear Nighthawk MK83 is the inclusion of a second 5Ghz channel that offers 4×3 AX up to 1800Mbps. This channel will then be used as the backhaul,…

For Windows 7 and 10 machines, as soon as you plug this dongle in, it will auto-install. As for the…
The Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 was announced back in September, but somehow, I completely missed it. This is the first proper Wi-Fi 6E router to be announced. This week it, it was finally made available on Amazon US for a hefty $549.99, $100 more than the GT-AX11000 it replaces. Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 vs Asus…
