Reasons to Recycle your old Phone

Who doesn’t love upgrading their old phones and devices? The issue is, of course, that once you do upgrade, you’re left with an old and unused piece of equipment. So what do you do with it?

There are many options; you could throw it away, but doing so would mean that your old tech, made of non-biodegradable materials, would end up in landfills and further pollute our already damaged environment.

You could sell your phone online; however, many of the online seller sites take a large cut of the sale in commission, and the shipping further eats into your payout.

So what options do you have left? Recycle it!

Many companies out there will buy your old tech, refurbish it, and resell the device. You don’t have to deal with shipping as the vast majority of these refurbishment companies will send you a prepaid box to ship your old phone to them for refurbishment.

You also do not have to deal with an online selling platform taking a large amount of your sale; the amount you’re quoted is the amount you will receive (as long as your device is described, of course).

Not only does recycling your old tech help save the planet, but it’s also the easiest way to make money from something you no longer have a use for.

While on the topic of phone recycling and reuse, it’s also worth pointing out that buying refurbished is a fantastic option too (because it’s cheaper than buying brand new).

With klarna or other similar companies, you can spread the price; absolutely no contracts or upfront costs. The device you buy is 100% yours, and most refurbished phone companies offer at least 12 months warranty. This, of course, means when it’s time to upgrade again, you can recycle it back and let the cycle continue.

To sum up, the advantages of recycling your old tech vastly outweigh the disadvantages. To recycle your old phone means you’re stopping yet another device from ending up in landfills across the world, further polluting our environment.

Not only are mobile phones non-biodegradable and therefore do not break down after time, but extracting the precious metals and other irreplaceable materials from said mobile phones causes an insane amount of pollution.

Selling your old device online is difficult because most selling sites will take a large chunk of your payout, and then you have excessive prices to post and pack the device to the customer.

Which leaves recycling … and after reading this article I’m sure you’ll agree, this is the quickest, easiest and most reliable option.
